Rogor
Systemic organophosphate with insecticide and acaricide activity by ingestion and contact. It interferes with the transmission of nerve impulses by inhibiting cholinesterase. It has a good shock effect, long persistence (up to 3 weeks) and a wide field of activity. Like most phosphorous products, it decomposes rapidly in the soil (half-life, 2 to 4 days) and in plants, so it is considered moderately persistent. Its active ingredient blocks the transmission of nerve impulses by inhibiting cholinesterase, an enzyme that normally breaks down acetylcholine (a toxin) which, when released, attacks the nervous system of insects. Their reactions are uncoordinated, they stop feeding and die of starvation. It breaks down quickly in soil. |
